Voyager finds active volcanoes on Jupiter's moon, Io

This image from the Voyager 1 satellite shows several lava flows and calderas on Jupiterís moon Io. Calderas are the centers of volcanic activity. The large black region below the center of the image is the active lava lake in Loki Patera, the largest volcanic depression on Io.
