Planet orbiting the star Fomalhaut

This artist's illustration shows a ring of debris surrounding the star Fomalhaut, located 25 light-years from Earth. A planet, called Fomalhaut b, may be orbiting just inside the ring. Hubble Space Telescope images of Fomalhaut b are among the first visible-light views of a planet outside our solar system. Astronomers estimate that the possible planet is no more than three times the mass of Jupiter.
